Joker: Paris cinema is evacuated during film screening

A Paris cinema was evacuated during the screening of the Joker movie last Sunday (27) due to suspected terrorism. According to Le Parisien , a man in the audience began muttering in Arabic, sowing panic among the other spectators and causing the session to be interrupted. Many left the room in a hurry.

Some attending the session reported that the suspect shouted the phrase "is political" several times during the film. At first everyone laughed, but the frequency started to bother and some tried to shut him up, according to one viewer reported to the French newspaper. That's when the man got up, put his hands on his chest and shouted "Allahu akbar!", Arabic expression meaning "God is great."

At this point, viewers rushed to the locked movie exits, and despair increased when some mistakenly claimed that he had a weapon. Triggered, police paralyzed the Joker exhibit and evacuated the room to scan for explosives. Nothing has been found.

Meanwhile, the person responsible for the riot managed to escape security, but hours later he was arrested and identified as a resident of the 34-year-old district of Boulogne-Billancourt in the French capital.

Suspect would have staged to steal

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , film director Grand Rex said the man staged the incident to distract the audience while an accomplice robbed them. The targets were the cellphones and the spectators' bags. According to him, the two had apparently already used the same tactic on a train.

Remember that this was not the first problem that occurred during the Joker display . In Recife, an exalted man startled the audience at the feature film premiere. Already at a movie theater in Burbank, California, a fight during the session left a person injured on the 13th.
