BAD SHOP / GOOD SHOP

I posted a picture recently of some AMAZING shoes bought in River Island. I am sad to inform you all that, those shoes are no more.
Last Saturday night I ventured out in Limerick. Trampling around I had just entered (random nameless nightclub) and decided to pop upstairs to visit the emptier bar to get a drink. However, my shoe had other ideas.
Walking up the stairs I felt a crack. An actual crack under my body. Then I wobbled and nearly fell backwards down the stairs. (soooooo not Vogue!)
A quick examination of the shoe revealed the heel had snapped completely off. In fact I actually held the heel in my hand. In a crowded bar away from the door I had no option but to jump up the stairs and limp to a chair where I realised I now had a serious situation - given that they were HUGE platforms, I couldn't walk.
Luckly E was there and able to help me get back to her car.
I am furious with this. It could have been extremely dangerous. Given that these are massive heels and I was on a staircase when it happened. Not to mention mortified that I had broken them. I am not a heavy girl. I'm a size 10. So I didn't crack them under body weight. It was a badly made shoe. I was lucky I didn't break my neck. Not to mention the lethally sharp nails sticking out of the heel. Which were razor sharp and pointy.
Although I am now remembering another bad River Island experience.
I bought a pair of super gorgeous biker boots to stomp around Dublin in. Now I did buy them in the sale. So the boots were €45 instead of the €120 they had been. First time I wore them, the zip on the left broke and then snapped off!!! Luckily they are the style that you can get away with a broken zip given that they have long laces which you can loop around boot to hold it in place.
But still, If I had payed full price - which I had been thinking about doing before they went on sale - I would have been furious. I couldn't take them back as I couldn't find the receipt. Grrrrrr.
The girls in River Island Limerick were lovely about it and returned the shoes immediately. Giving me a credit note for them. It makes a bad situation so much better when the retail staff are so lovely to you. In fact, I was laughing by the time I left the store.
Happy days.
Now have to find something to replace the shoes with!
TO THE STORE!
(to buy something that isn't a shoe)
