Bloomingdales forced to apologise for suggesting date rape in Christmas catalogue

I'm really annoyed that this is the second advert showing a terrible judgement call today.

Bloomingdales in New York have had to apologise for this awful advert that suggests date rape and drink spiking.

What the hell.

HOW.

The creepy advert features a laughing woman being looked at by a man she appears not to notice. The man lurks behind her in creepy fashion. I find this really offensive. Much more offensive then the boot advert earlier which I think was inappropriate. This is just a bit sick.

It wasn't much of an apology however : 'We heard your feedback about our catalog copy, which was inappropriate and in poor taste. Bloomingdale's sincerely apologizes.'

Good on those who called them out.
