I love it when a plan comes together! My plan being for this month to discover as many new designers as physically possible! Introducing Willow. An Australian brand loved by the like of Florence and the machine. (although I'm unsure how the machine feels about the brand but Florence seems to LOVE them)

There is something that reminds me a lot of Balmain about their collection. Could it be the rock style skinny trousers and sequinned wonderful-ness or the sharply tailored pieces? or the so structured statement shoulders on some of the pieces? Who knows!But I am counting myself as a Willow fan now!
Again, Frilly neck pieces are following me everywhere. The more delicate and detailed the better. If you scroll down the blog you can see a few images from the last frilly neckpiece to catch my eye - from Mia O Connell. An Irish designer. But there is something so easy about the neckpiece. No matter how plain and simple your outfit (in fact it works better if the outfit is plain so the focus is on the neckpiece) you can pop on a neckpiece and work it!
The collections feature wonderful structured pieces like the above jacket over the softer more feminine items like the white skirt. Allowing even the most fierce of ladies to apply a gentle edge to their look. Something I think Balmain as a brand often overlook. A statement sharp shoulder can look amazing. But often times a little too sharp and a little too cold. But pair it with the softer more floaty feminine pieces and the look changes completely.
I am also loving the folded back booties on the model's feet. Check that out! They remind me of the amazing new booties from Alexander McQueen A/W10 which I encountered at Brown Thomas's A/W shows. Available in tan and leather. Although there is a younger and more playful edge to these. I'm also loving the little bit of platform there too!
Willow's press information reads like a whose who in fashion media. They have been featured in every single publication of note : Vogue, Vogue Australia, Harpers Bazaar to name a few. Some of the most beautiful photoshoots as well.
They are currently available only in stockists in Australia - which sucks. Since I have no immediate plans to travel to down under. But, there is hope, you can find their collection for sale at netaporter.com! Hurrah! Hope!
