Happy Friday to all of you! Today I would like to share with you the manicure that I have been wearing for the past week. It features a lacquer from the Sinful Shine King Kylie collection. I came across a display for the collection a few weeks ago and this gray beauty really caught my eye. Although my initial thought was that it is likely a relabel of their wildly popular 2014 shade Prosecco, I knew I had to take it home and compare. Figuring that in the worst case, I'd have a backup of a shade I love, but instead I was pleasantly surprised that they are indeed different. They do, however, both have the gorgeous golden iridescent shimmer which drew me to them...
I wanted to accent the golden shimmer with a bit more gold and I chose the Sinful Colors Gold Medal. I absolutely love this gold shade, it is a bit warmer and softer than a typical yellow gold. It also makes a wonderful stamping polish (you can see a sample of it in action here).
To create the curve, I used French Tip nail vinyls from Whats Up Nails. As you might guess, they are intended to be used for a french tip manicure, but I thought it would be fun to use them in a different way. These nail vinyls, along with a few other shapes were sent to me for review, right before my unplanned blogging hiatus :'(, and are another product that I feel really guilty about not showing you for so long. The vinyls were very easy to use, they adhere perfectly to the nail and remove easily, leaving behind a clean line. I'm really looking forward to playing around with these some more...
Here is how I arranged the vinyls, aiming for a bit of randomness to isolate different corners of the nails...
It is a quite simple manicure, but I thought it was really classy and elegant. I've been enjoying it all week...
A quick look at Sinful Shine Slay Grey. It is a medium gray crelly with an iridescent golden shimmer. It is a bit sheer to let the beautiful shimmer shine through, but two coats as I have in these swatches provided good coverage with a barely visible nail line. Swatches are with a top coat.
I'm not sure truly how much difference there is between the Sinful Colors and Sinful Shine lines in terms of duration of wear, but this particular shade has stayed on my nails for a week now with barely any tip wear and no chips. I'm definitely impressed...
Now to quickly compare Slay Grey to Prosecco. As the name would suggest, Slay Grey is a lot more gray than the taupe Prosecco. You can see my old swatches and nail art with Prosecco here. Both have the same iridescent golden shimmer which I'm in love with. Really hoping to see more shades with this shimmer. Shown below are 2 coats of each shade with a top coat...
I'd love to know what you think of this manicure!
Thanks for looking!
Anutka :)
